Marvin Harrison isn’t going to play on Thursday at Jacksonville, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Harrison, the paper reports, didn’t even make the trip with the team. He tweaked a hamstring late in the Detroit game.
This dramatically increases the value of Anthony Gonzalez. He will start in that spot, and should put up even better numbers than Harrison would have – he’s younger, faster and has a lot more big-play ability.
The injury also should slightly help out Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne – one fewer guy competing for catches.
It’s still too early to say whether Joseph Addai (shoulder) will play. Bob Sanders (a key to their run defense) is also in question. Tony Dungy says he believes those guys will play.
