Fantasy News
The Fantasy Index Playoff ReDrafter contains rankings of skill-position players who are participating in the playoffs, based on their cumulative values through the playoffs. A mediocre player from a Super Bowl contender may be ranked higher than a star from a team that's likely to lose the first weekend. You can subscribe to the playoff ReDrafter at the Fantasy Index online store. You can also order by phone at 206-527-4444.
(Playoff issues are sent to full-season subscribers at no charge -- it's a standard part of your Fantasy Index Weekly / Fantasy Index SuperFanatic subscription. Log in at https://store.fantasyindex.com/signin.)
We also publish weekend matchup previews -- very much like Fantasy Index Weekly -- for the first two rounds of the NFL playoffs. We break down the weekend games and rank players based solely on the given weekend's matchups. These newsletters will be published at approximately 2 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, December 31 and Wednesday, January 7. These newsletters cost $5 each.
You may subscribe to all three playoff editions for $11 -- a discount of $4 -- at the Fantasy Index online store.

Philip Rivers is missing from the overall top 35

Rivers isn't in my top 35. These rankings are based on OVERALL value, not how they'll do this weekend, and I see Rivers as a guy who'll be one and done. I would rather have Matt Ryan. While not as good as Rivers, Ryan has a very nice matchup this weekend and will also play in week 19. So I would rather have Ryan than Rivers. Another reader pointed out, however, an error in the product. There was a garble error in the defensive section. I'm not sure exactly how I screwed it up, but the defensive stuff didn't translate properly into the "overall" section. The defensive rankings are correct as they appear, but they then get switched around a little in the overall section (the order of the Titans and Colts reverses). Apologies for that, and we have more extensive information on the defenses in the Wednesday product.
