Marshall asks Broncos for trade

Posted Jun. 16 at 07:47 AM

Jay Cutler has already shot his way out of Denver, and Brandon Marshall might not be far behind.

Marshall met with team owner Pat Bowlen and requested a trade, and his agent says that Bowlen says the team will attempt to move him. Marshall wants a new contract and recently skipped a three-day mandatory camp.

"There was a request for a trade. Mr. Bowlen has said that ownership will do everything in its power to accommodate his wishes," said agent Kennard McGuire in an article in today's Denver Post.

Coach Josh McDaniels issued a soft denial, but he didn't sound too convincing. "We met after Pat's meeting with Brandon and are going to continue our dialogue with Brandon and his representative," said McDaniels. "We look forward to having Brandon at training camp."

Teams that might be interested in Marshall include the Ravens, Jets and Bears. One of those teams -- probably New York or Chicago -- will drop out of the market for Marshall if it signed Plaxico Burress.

Maybe Marshall can be traded for a QB. Denver doesn't have a QB and since Favre is going to be a Viking.... Rosenfels would look good in Denver. From what I see in the new Denver coach he would probably give a couple of number ones for Rosenfels plus Marshall.

I think they're content with Orton. Don't think they're interested in adding another quarterback. I read that Cleveland has interest in Marshall. If the Browns want Marshall, I wonder if they would offer Braylon Edwards in a straight-up, cancer-for-cancer deal?
