Fantasy Index mock draft leagues are in full swing

Posted Oct. 16 at 11:28 AM

The teams assembled in the mock draft and mock auction in this year's Fantasy Football Index magazine are competing in a "best ball" format. It's a hands-off league; we use each team's highest-scoring players as its starters each week. And every team plays all 11 other teams every week. The rosters and standings are accessible online. Here's the lowdown after six weeks.

YARDAGE LEAGUE Standings | Rosters

This league matches the teams assembled in the mock draft published in the 2007 edition of Fantasy Football Index. Each team plays all 11 other teams every week. Dan Bakley (The Fantasy Point) jumped from third to first place this week. He led the league in scoring. thanks largely to Maurice Jones-Drew (30.4 points), T.J. Houshmandzadeh (26.5) and Carson Palmer (24.2). But last week's leader, Scott Pianowski (Fantasy Guru), lurks only 1 game behind in the standings (48-18 vs. 47-19). Carl Weatherford (Caochbox) is in third, six games back.

AUCTION LEAGUE Standings | Rosters

Scott Endsley (Fantasy Draft Edge) led our best-ball mock auction league in scoring and jumped into second place in the standings. His stars were Tom Brady ($21, 39.9 points), the New Orleans defense ($2, 20.0), Devin Hester ($2, 19.8) and Donte Stallworth ($6, 19.6). Fantasy Football Index publisher Ian Allan (57-9) remains in first place; Patrick Gleesing (Fantasy Football Draft Hub) is third.

TD-ONLY LEAGUE Standings | Rosters

Twigg Bohlen of Cypress, Texas vaulted from third to first place in the hands-on TD-only league matching 12 Fantasy Index SuperFanatics against one another. Unlike the other two leagues, this one is fully hands-on. The participants can manipulate their lineups from week to week. Todd McFeeley of Pittsburgh led the league in scoring this week, thanks to big performances by Derek Anderson (18 points) and Tony Gonzalez (12). Benton Hitt of Springfield, Va. and Bill Loger of Aurora, Colo. are second and third in the standings.
