TD-only draft is flying along

Posted Aug. 26 at 11:41 AM

What's the fastest an 18-round extended format draft can be completed? The 12 Fantasy Index subscribers who are participating in our TD-only league might be challenging it.

The draft started just over 48 hours ago, and we're already almost into the sixth round. By way of comparison, Ian Allan was in a 20-round experts draft a little while ago, and after 48 hours only 20 picks had been made -- midway through the second round. That's a bit of an extreme example, but the point is that this thing is moving.

Recent picks I like include Tony Romo, who I think is severely underrated in general this year. The truth is that he can have a successful year throwing for yardage (although that doesn't matter in this league) and touchdowns even if all of his wide receivers are horrible; it will just be Jason Witten, Felix Jones, and perhaps Marion Barber catching passes from the guy. I'm not crazy about the Lee Evans pick, just because he hasn't been a big scorer in recent years and I don't think adding T.O. will change that in a positive way.

The entire draft can be seen at this link; picks made thus far are presented below.
