ASK THE EXPERTS appears weekly with answers to a new question being posted Thursday morning. How the guest experts responded when we asked them:
Which player would you be looking to buy low after the first two weeks?
DAVID DOREY
Steve Slaton has slogged through two bad games now thanks to playing against the surprising Jets and then in Nashville against the Titans. His schedule turns softer now with upcoming games of JAC, OAK, @ARI, @CIN and SF. That should make Slaton look much more like the star from 2008.
Dorey is the co-founder and Senior NFL Analyst at The Huddle since 1997. He has produced award winning rankings and has projected the fantasy stats for every game over the last 13 years. David produces the bulk of The Huddle rankings and his “Predictions and Projections” breaks down every single NFL game every week through the Super Bowl. You can find more about David at TheHuddle.com.
JEFFREY KAMYS
Eddie Royal still has a ton of upside even with the pop gun arm of Kyle Orton. Royal should continue to get plenty of looks on short underneath routes (also known as the only routes that Orton can throw). He has good fantasy value the rest of the way.
Kamys is president of Dr. Stats Fantasy Sports. His company, via the web, offers player news, injury reports, cheat sheets, projections, weekly matchups, statistics, and a customized team tracker. Dr. Stats Fantasy Sports also e-mails preseason newsletters and reports throughout the season. For more info visit www.docstats.com or send email to webmaster@docstats.com.
RICK HAWES
If my team is struggling at running back, I’m all over the owner with Brandon Jacobs, who has rushed for 58 or fewer yards in the first two weeks of 2009 with no trips to the end zone. The Giants have arguably the best run-blocking offensive line in the league, finishing top-10 in rushing offense in each of the last three seasons. As a team, the G-Men have exceeded 2,000 yards in each of these campaigns, and there’s no way that a Tom Coughlin coached team will continue to pass the ball 55 percent of the time. The 264-pound wrecking ball scored 15 times last year, and I think he’s still a good bet for double-digit scores this season.
Hawes is the Managing Editor of NFL content at Fanball.com. Fanball.com and OwnersEdge.com offer league management software, daily play fantasy games, Live Advice, up-to-date news, free and premium content, player rankings, custom projections and cheat sheets, in-depth IDP analysis, Fantasy Buffet Radio Show, NFL Draft Kit, Fanball Blog Network, daily newsletter, a vast array of fantasy football tools, including Draft Analyzer software and five magazines featuring the Pro Football Draft Preview, as well as four Fantasy Football publications. LOUIS TRANQUILLI
I would be on the owner of Slaton like a Bible salesman in Austin on a Sunday. I'd pound on the Slaton owner that Chris Brown is being used at the goal line and now he's getting looks in the passing game. Slaton is the most talented back in the Texans offense, and when he's caught passes has looked very quick. The Texans have faced a revamped Jets D' and got themselves into a throwing shootout with the Titans of all teams. Steve gets some FAR MORE favorable matchups coming in the weeks ahead, including Jacksonville this week and Oakland to follow. He'll be a stud again soon, and you should be getting him for a decent bargain right now.
Tranquilli is the founder and the primary "brains" (if you stretch it) of BFDFANTASYfootball.com. BFD is about delivering the information players want, not fluff, just opinions that matter to fantasy football players. Lou has worked with NFL players and gives a unique perspective because of it. We'll be giving MORE teams away in 2009 to BFD subscribers!

Donnie Avery has been relatively quiet despite a productive first week; the rise of Laurent Robinson has overshadowed the speedster. Remember, Avery missed most preseason activities, meaning he's still warming up. The Rams will surely be playing from behind often, and they'll be airing it out late in games. Consider Avery a reasonable buy-low target if you're searching for a No. 3 wideout.

PRETZEL MAY
Definitely Pierre Thomas. A lot of people were not sure what his role would be before the season and with Mike Bell looking good Thomas' role was even more in question. You should be able to get him for very little. His time however, is coming very soon. Bell just suffered a similar injury that put Pierre out for most of the preseason and the first 2 weeks of this season, opening the door from Thomas to reclaim his role as the unquestioned starter. In a system that Mike Bell was able to put up 115 yards a game, Thomas should be a fantastic pick up for you.

SCOTT ENDSLEY
Maurice Jones-Drew isn't off to a top 3 RB start to say the least. But the Jags will get the offense rolling and MJD will emerge. If anybody is looking to give up on him at this point, we'd be interested.
Endsley is co-owner and a senior fantasy football consultant for FantasyDraftEdge.com offering customizable fantasy football cheat sheets and professional VIP advice all season long. For more info, go to www.fantasydraftedge.com.
SAM HENDRICKS
Always look at what teams he has played. Matt Forte has taken on Green Bay and Pittsburgh, two brutal 3-4 run defenses and his stats are not impressive because of it. In most PPR formats, he has 16 points total. However, his next two games are against Seattle and Detroit. Look for a return to normal for Forte and a great buying opportunity from any owner pulling the trigger prematurely.
Sam Hendricks is the author of Fantasy Football Guidebook, Fantasy Football Tips and Fantasy Football Almanac 2009, all available at his website, www.ffguidebook.com, at all major bookstores, and at www.amazon.com. He is a 19-year fantasy football veteran who regularly participates in the World Championship of Fantasy Football (WCOFF), National Fantasy Football Championship (NFFC) and finished 7th overall in the 2008 Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC).
BOB HECK
Aaron Rodgers makes for a great buy low candidate if you can find an owner a little miffed at not getting elite production out of Rodgers thus far. He'll have some monster days in the not too far off distance and his price will only increase from here. Rodgers was amazing last year as a first-year starting QB, cracking 4,000 yards and throwing for 28 TDs. He's a heady player that will also contribute with some rushing scores to boot (Rodgers ran for 4 TDs last year, the most of any QB).
Heck is a founding partner at Dynasty Rogues, a fantasy football website filled with football enthusiasts, run by football enthusiasts. The company provides year-round dynasty and redraft fantasy football coverage and analysis, including Dynasty Rogues Radio and the Rogues Forum. The site can be reached at www.dynastyrogues.com.
ANDY RICHARDSON
Tony Romo should bounce back from a poor game against the Giants, especially as opponents load up to stop the running game. I'll also mention Larry Fitzgerald, whose relatively quiet first two games might have somebody getting nervous -- and they shouldn't be.
Richardson has been a columnist and contributor to the Fantasy Football Index magazine and web site for the past eight years. His responsibilities include team defense and IDP projections, as well as various site features. He has run the magazine's annual draft and auction leagues since their inception. His A DAY OF FOOTBALL wrap-up column appears Mondays during the NFL season.
