ASK THE EXPERTS appears weekly with answers to a new question being posted Thursday morning. How the guest experts responded when we asked them:

Which (if any) of the quarterbacks moving into the starting lineup this week has the most fantasy value?

JEFFREY KAMYS

This may be a surprise to some, but Kyle Boller in St. Louis could be worth keeping an eye on. He looked pretty good at times against the Packers on Sunday and you know the Rams are terrible and will be behind often, so he is going to have to throw plenty to keep them in games. It's always an added bonus to have a dome player later in the year as well, when weather is more unpredictable.

Frankly, I'm advising fantasy owners to stay away from these ugly messes. I don't own any QB from any of the struggling teams, so it has little meaning for myself, as well as the subscribers whom listened to me back before the season began. And that doesn't mean I haven't been picking up a certain QB off the waiver wire that has potential. Jets QB Mark Sanchez has been my favorite target, and I acquired him before his week 3 big game against the Titans.

LOUIS TRANQUILLI

Chad Henne. He has a BIG arm, which is why the Fins' selected him in the 2008 draft in round 2 rather than pick Matt Ryan in Round 1. There are a host of weapons in Miami for him to work with and the Dolphins have a good enough defense to give him additional chances each game to score TDs. Henne is a 200 yard per week passer with 1 TD right now, and potential to be better as the season progresses.

Tranquilli is the founder and the primary "brains" (if you stretch it) of BFDFANTASYfootball.com. BFD is about delivering the information players want, not fluff, just opinions that matter to fantasy football players. Lou has worked with NFL players and gives a unique perspective because of it. I'd like to say Derek Anderson taking over in Cleveland has the most ramifications on the offense, but he reminded me Sunday how bad he really is. I'll go with Chad Henne taking over for Chad Pennington (shoulder). The more youthful Chad sees his era begin now instead of next year, but with a strong running game the pressure may not be piled on as heavy as one would think. The offensive line is more than capable of protecting him, and once he adjusts to the game speed Henne could even be worth a fantasy start from time to time. Henne starting doesn't devalue the fantasy worth of the players around him as much as it may seem, because he offers more in the way of arm strength and raw passing ability than Pennington did. As long as the game isn't too much for Henne, and I suspect it won't be since he had to deal with playing for the Michigan Wolverines, look for a respectable showing.

COLIN DARLINGTON

In the short-term I like Kyle Boller in St.Louis. He proved he can still play, passing for 164 yards and 2 TD's in three quarters this past Sunday vs. Green Bay. The issue with Boller is Bulger might only miss a week and be back starting in Week 5. This would limit Boller's value. For longer success I like Josh Johnson in Tampa Bay. If his WRs could catch the ball he would have had better numbers this past Sunday and he has a great running game to help him out. So, for the entire 2009 season I would choose Johnson over Boller as the backup (soon to be starting) QB with the most fantasy potential in 2009.

Miami might be the least risky situation, but little upside -- still a "game manager" type QB can put up at least decent numbers. More high risk/high reward would be Cleveland that will look to throw the ball more and with a guy like Braylon Edwards -- why not? If you're in a situation where you need a QB from any of these teams you've got big problems as none are exceptional options.

Yesterday I would have said Chad Henne at Miami has the most fantasy value because his competition is out for the season). However, Miami's trade for Tyler Thigpen muddies the water some and may shorten the leash Chad gets. If Hasselbeck misses any more time I like Seneca Wallace because of the quality of WRs and more importantly the O-line. Kyle Boller and Derek Anderson lose points because they will be throwing off their back foot all day due to OL issues.

DAVID DOREY

Kyle Boller in St. Louis holds the most interest from a fantasy perspective since the Rams are going to be behind in virtually every game and need to throw the ball. With Steven Jackson there, a rushing attack is already in place and he doubles as a valuable receiver as well. The Rams are no longer standing behind Marc Bulger and there was much speculation that he would not be with the team this year. With so many needs, he remained for 2009 but Boller has a chance to show up and look good and secure a starting job away from the ever-fragile Bulger. It is a young team and a nice chance for Boller to recreate his career.

As I write this I'm mulling whether to acquire Derek Anderson in a dynasty league trade. It's tough to expect much because this is a train-wreck team that's scored just one touchdown in the last half a season, which is borderline impossible. But surely Anderson's season a couple of years ago means he can play, right? Of all the switches going on right now, he's the only one that I believe has shown enough in the past to maybe play well in the present. Honestly, none of these situations look very good. Long-term, I did like Chad Henne coming out of college, so maybe he'll develop into something.

Henne looked TERRIBLE when he came in vs the Chargers. And it's only a matter of time before Thigpen gets in there. I would say Boller if any.

I am 3-0 and but going into the byes like everyone else however my team has a lot of solid depth. Would you trade Grant/Cotchery/Denver Def for Randy Moss/Jonathan Stewart/Giants Def? Most of the time I beleive if it isn't broke don't fix it and could use and Grant/Cotchery to get through the byes. My current backs are Jones-Drew; Grant; Benson & Julius Jones. Receivers I have are Andre Johnson & Dallas Clark-starters with Burleson/Cotchery & Mason. Would you make the deal for Moss vs. keeping a solid stable of RB's to get through byes and assist through future injuries?

should i start L.T this week ?

Posted by ANDY RICHARDSON | Oct. 04 at 10:03 AM

I don't think you should ever use bye weeks as a factor in making a deal. OK, two exceptions: two players you value equally and one has already had his bye and one hasn't. Or maybe you've got two players with the same bye and can trade one for somebody of equal value. Anyway, in your case, I'd probably make the deal. I don't know how often I'd start Grant and I think there will be plenty of weeks when Stewart is just as viable a start anyway.
