Factoid
Reggie Bush was second played chosen in the 2006 draft, while Pierre Thomas was an undrafted free agent in 2007. But in each of the last three years, Thomas has been more effective.
Three years in a row, in fact, Thomas has finished with a better yards-per-attempt rushing average and a better yards-per-catch average.
RUSHING
2007 4.8 to 3.7
2008 4.8 to 3.7
2009 5.8 to 3.8
RECEIVING
2007 8.9 to 5.7
2008 9.2 to 8.5
2009 8.1 to 7.8

In support of Reggie Bush, he is used much differently in the passing game than Pierre Thomas. His routes are not intended on being large gainers. Thomas primarily has designed pass plays (screens) that go to him, whereas, Bush is the check-down receiver for the Saints. There is no question that Bush is the better receiver of the two. If you don't believe me...take a look at the one hand catch that he made today. As far as their running abilities...Pierre Thomas is excellent. He is legit and could very well be a top 10 RB. He does everything else...and looks a heck of a lot like a young LT out there. He may not do one thing great...but he does everything very well. Though Reggie is not as good as a runner, he actually hasn't been bad this season. He is just in an impossible committee behind Bell & Thomas.
