Multiple media outlets are saying that Ben Roethlisberger will sit out Sunday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens, elevating Dennis Dixon into the starting lineup. Roethlisberger suffered a concussion in last week's game.
A report from ESPN's John Clayton can be seen right here. It's not official, but it sounds close enough to certain that fantasy owners should get him out of their lineups and come up with other plans. We weren't even particularly high on Roethlisberger in this matchup -- these games tend to be defensive struggles, and Roethlisberger threw only 1 TD per game against the Ravens last year -- so we definitely won't recommend Dixon.
This is also bad news for Pittsburgh's receiving corps, given that Dixon has thrown just one pass in his two seasons in the league. (Pittsburgh's normal No. 2, Charlie Batch, injured a wrist last week and definitely won't play.) These guys still have some value -- the Ravens are much tougher against the run than the pass, so that's how Pittsburgh will likely be forced to move the ball -- but Dixon's inexperience make them riskier plays than normal.
