Around the NFL
I was just looking at the NFL scheduling grid (looking at something completely unrelated). And I notice that the NFC North teams will play the AFC East teams next season.
This means that either the Patriots or Jets will play at Detroit on Thanksgiving. (For TV reasons, there is always one AFC team playing in one of those first two Thanksgiving games, and that team alternates between Detroit and Dallas -- allowing those broadcasts to alternate between FOX and CBS).
My guess is the lure of having Matthew Stafford and Mark Sanchez square off head-to-head for the first time will put the Jets in that game. Plus nobody wants to watch the Lions get clobbered by the Patriots.
If you want to look further down the road, it should be Bills or Dolphins at Dallas in 2011, and Texans or Colts at Detroit in 2012.

Ian, where have you found the scheduling grid for 2010 and beyond? My understanding was the current schedule was good from 2002-2009, but they've yet to release the one for 2010 going forward.

The 2010 opponents are listed in the NFL's Record and Fact book. For 2011 and 2012, I'm just assuming they'll follow the pattern that's in place, with divisions meeting every four years and venues rotating.
