Factoid
There is hope, it seems, for the Lions and Browns. A year ago at this time, neither Arizona nor New Orleans had ever played in a Super Bowl. Now we seem to slowly but surely be ticking off each of the league’s 32 teams.
Ten times in the last 12 Super Bowls, in fact, a team has appeared in the game for the first time. Now we’re running out of teams that have never been to one. Detroit is the last holdout on the NFC side. In the AFC, we’ve got Cleveland, Houston and Jacksonville.

The teams that have not played in a SB are.... Texans, Browns, Lions, Jaguars; right? But which of the 32 *cities* has not had a SB participant?

All of the other 28 teams have been to a Super Bowl while located in their current city (the Jets and Giants may play in New Jersey and do business in New Jersey, but I consider them to still be in the New York market -- they've still got New York in their name, at least). I noticed in the paper this morning, by the way, that in the last six NFC title games, 10 different teams have been involved. The Saints and Eagles were in two of those games; eight other teams have appeared once.
