Factoid
The Rams kind of snuck up on me last season. I think they were overshadowed by having to share the limelight with all of the other really bad teams last year (most notably the Lions – the Rams won at Detroit in week 8).
St. Louis has a very good running back (Steven Jackson), and they were at least competitive during a stretch of games in the middle of the season before the wheels really feel off.
But the Rams are awful – as in all-time awful.
The Lions may have gone winless last year and just 2-14 in 2009, but St. Louis, believe it or not, has been worse over the last three years. The Rams have gone 3-13, 2-14 and 1-15 over the last three seasons. That’s the worst three-year run by anyone since the league went to the 16-game schedule in 1978.
WORST THREE-YEAR RUNS IN THE NFL, 1978-
Includes only teams playing three consecutive 16-game seasons. With strike-shortened seasons, the Oilers went 6-35 from 1982-1984 and the Bucs went 8-39 from 1985-1987,
