Around the NFL
Mike Martz's arrival as Chicago offensive coordinator should have a big impact on Jay Cutler, ramping up the passing game and probably getting him knocked around a lot more. (And yielding more sacks and turnovers, as we observed last week.) A story in the Chicago Tribune anticipates big changes for both Greg Olsen and Devin Hester, as well.
Martz's offenses tend to utilize tight ends more as blockers than receivers; bad news for Olsen (who was a disappointment a year ago anyway). Some are saying that most of Martz's offenses haven't had a receiver of Olsen's caliber at the position, but that was said when he had Vernon Davis in San Francisco, and Davis didn't do much either; his breakout season came after Martz was replaced.
Hester's days as a No. 1 wideout (such as they were) appear to have come to an end, as well. Martz talks about using Hester as a slot receiver, in the mold of former Ram and Lion Az-Zahir Hakim. That would pretty much minimize his fantasy value. Martz sees Hester's role in the return game expanding, in line with earlier in his career, which is good news for the Bears Defense/Special Teams, not so much for Hester himself.

Marshall will be going to the Bears and rejoin Cutler.
