Jets / kicking options

Posted May. 21 at 06:30 AM

As was pointed out by Andy Richardson earlier in the day, the Jets may have an issue at kicker. Nick Folk has been stinking it up at workouts.

But it’s way too early to push the panic button. There are plenty of good kickers out there, and plenty of time to bring in somebody else, if necessary, before the opener.

Shayne Graham, for example, is an unrestricted free agent. He’s been one of the league’s most accurate kickers.

Offering less power but reliable on shorter kicks is Matt Stover. ANd Kris Brown probably will be released by Houston. Phil Dawson of the Browns is one of the league’s top 10 kickers; he’s been grumbling about his contract – maybe Cleveland would be willing to let him go.
