Passing stats / Manning vs. the rest of the league

Posted Jul. 23 at 05:05 PM

How much difference can one guy make? How much money is Peyton Manning worth?

Look at the passing stats for each team over the last decade, where you can compare Manning against the league’s other 31 teams (who have all used multiple starters in that time period). In TD passes, the Colts are 46 ahead of everyone else. In passing yards, they’re 1,151 yards ahead of everyone else.

There are lots of good quarterbacks and coaches in the league. Over the last 10 years, Manning is well ahead of all of them.

How about with INT's? :-)

How about sacks? Although if you're using team passing yardage, Peyton's talent for not getting sacked is already factored in.

I will post those numbers. Probably Monday, but maybe late Sunday.
