Colston; declining role

Posted Aug. 01 at 01:41 PM

Marques Colston underwent knee surgery in the offseason. He also hasn't been used as much by the Saints as in the past. They've got more pass catchers now -- three other wide receivers, a group of running backs and multiple tight ends.

Colston had 143 passes than in his direction in 2007. That was the year he caught 98 passes and 11 TDs.

Last year, Colston played in all 16 games but was targeted only 106 times -- 37 fewer. He finished with 70 catches and 9 TDs.
