JaMarcus Russell adds off-field transgressions to his resume
Posted Jul. 05 at 09:58 AM
It wasn't enough that JaMarcus Russell flopped as an NFL quarterback. Now he's in trouble with the legal system, too.
It's not exactly a big-time offense -- possession of codeine syrup -- but it was enough to get him arrested and jailed as part of an undercover narcotics investigation. Those considering wasting a roster spot on Russell in a dynasty league have bigger concerns, like whether he can actually play or not, but this little misstep won't help him land another job in the league. Well, maybe with Cincinnati.
Anyway, just in case you weren't already scared off by Russell's desire, work ethic, or NFL skills, here's yet another, albeit lesser, reason to stick a fork in his career. There's a report about it right here.

Interesting that last week he was in the running for the Jets or the Vikings. Some of these publications must really think we're stupid.

On the plus side, he's gone 231 straight days without coughing, the longest streak of any NFL quarterback.

No cold or no hernia. I guess things could be worse.
