With a solid 6th-place finish (out of 25 competitors), David Dorey of THE HUDDLE is the new all-time leader in our Experts Poll competition, percentage points ahead of Bob Henry of FOOTBALLGUYS.COM and Jon Millman of FANTASY FOOTBALL CHAMPS, who are tied for 2nd.
We grade our Experts Poll each year, assigning points to the top 20 selections at every position by every expert. Dan Bakley of THE FANTASY POINT won the most recent competition, as was announced last Thursday.
But we also keep track of each expert's overall body of work. We give him a "win" for every expert he beats in the competition, and a "loss" for everyone who comes in ahead of him. Bakley, for example, went 24-0 for winning this year's poll. Carl Weatherford of COACHBOX finished 2nd, so we assigned him a win-loss record of 23-1.
Using that system, and grading every poll we've done since we added that feature to the magazine in 1991, Dorey is our new all-time leader. Millman, Henry and Scott Pianowski are within striking range for next year. And Bakley will be a contender before long as well -- he's 47-1 after his two years in the poll.
