Giant move for New York's defense

Posted Jul. 25 at 02:35 AM

The Giants had one of the league's best defenses, in both NFL and fantasy terms, not so long ago, but it slipped badly last year. They also had a huge void at middle linebacker with the injury, release and retirement of Antonio Pierce. Until now.

The Giants added former Titan Keith Bulluck yesterday, a franchise linebacker for years with Tennessee. He's not the player he was, and in fact is coming off a torn ACL. Still, if healthy, he's definitely a more appealing player in the middle of New York's defense than the team's other options at the position, all of which are unproven youngsters or journeyman veterans.

It will be interesting to see how much Bulluck has left; the Titans weren't interested in bringing him back (although the ACL injury was a large part of that). Bulluck is 33 years old.

Regardless, it's a positive move for a defense that has a lot of talent on the defensive line, but question marks at linebacker. Could be a nice addition for them.
