Factoid
Call him Mr. August. Troy Williamson keeps getting behind defenses and making big plays in the preseason games.
Last year, he was about the most impressive receiver in the league in the preseason, catching 12 passes for 267 yards and a touchdown. That's 22.2 yards per catch. And he picked up where he left off last night in Philadelphia, catching 2 passes for 101 yards, with a 73-yard touchdown.
But when, if ever, will that ever translate into real-game production:
Williamson, last 6 preseason games:
18 for 452, 2 TDs (25.1 yards per catch)
Williamson, last 21 regular-season games:
26 for 304, 3 TDs (11.7 yards per catch)
So, in six preseason games, he's managed 148 more yards than in his last three regular seasons combined. (Williamson missed most of last year with a shoulder injury).
