Favre headed back to Vikings

Posted Aug. 17 at 02:40 PM

Brett Favre is back in the game. His return to Minnesota changes the landscape of the NFC, and it dramatically changes the fantasy value of Minnesota’s pass catchers.

This Favre return was even more bizarre than those in the past, with Ryan Longwell, Jared Allen and Steve Hutchinson flying to Mississippi to fetch him. It will be hard for Favre to top those antics in 2011.

But Favre is a significant upgrade over Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels. With Favre, the Vikings have a chance to average 260-plus passing yards per game, with maybe 30 TD passes. Without him, they’d be far more likely to have a conservative, run-based offense, mired down around 220 yards and maybe 22 TD passes. So about 40 passing yards per game and 8 TD passes – that’s the kind of pop Favre adds to Minnesota’s offense.

A big boost, in other words, to Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin and Visanthe Shiancoe. Those guys would have decreased significantly without him.

And if the Vikings can keep Favre healthy, they’re about as likely as anyone to make it to the Super Bowl.

Shocking. I thought he'd drag things out for another week or so. Or, you know, take a cab from Mississippi to the Superdome for week 1.

He's a diva. Just has to have all the attention on him. The pukes that "begged" him to come back are losers as well. They know they can't win a SB w/o him cause they aren't top notch players individually. Here's hoping the viqueens don't even make the playoffs. Yes, I'm a Packers fan, but come on, I can't be the only one tired of this BS!!! Hey Brett, send some more text pics of your junk to all the viqueen fans.
