Fantasy Index Scheduletron -- strength-of-schedule analysis
Here’s an interesting stat, showing just how very good the Patriots have become before our very eyes. Not only are they currently cruising through the schedule, but they’ve done so despite playing the hardest schedule.
The Patriots, as you know, currently lead the league in scoring. They keep cranking out over 30 points every week, even against great defenses – Steelers, Bears, Jets.
If you take the Patriots’ 13 opponents and look at what they’ve done in their other 156 combined games, those teams have allowed only 19.6 points per game, on average. That’s the lowest of any team in the league.
So not only are the Patriots cleaning up, but they’re doing it against the best.
Other offenses that have had to deal with tough schedules so far: Bengals, Bills, Dolphins, Lions.
Teams that have benefited from playing easy schedules: Kansas City, Indianapolis, St. Louis, San Diego and the Giants.
