30 TD passes becoming far more common

Posted Feb. 20 at 06:43 AM

It’s amazing the numbers quarterbacks are putting up nowadays. It used to be, it was unusual for a quarterback to throw 30 TDs in a season, but now it’s almost like a 1,000-yard season for a running back or a wide receiver – all of the good ones are doing it.

In this past season, seven different quarterbacks finished with at least 30 combined touchdowns (rushing and receiving). That’s the most ever.

The record used to be four, set in 1980, but now we’re seeing a group of quarterbacks passing the 30-mark every season.
