Factoid
Mike Holmgren talked up second-round wide receiver Greg Little last week, and the Browns are definitely looking for somebody to make an impact for them. Sixteen NFL wide receivers went over 1,000 yards last year, but the Browns didn’t even have two wideouts combine to reach that mark. Their top yardage guy (among wide receivers) was Mohamed Massaquoi at 483.
Part of this was due to the nature of Cleveland’s offense. Tight end Benjamin Watson had a surprisingly productive year, catching 68 passes for 763 yards. But the Browns struggled to pass the ball, and their wide receivers weren’t very effective.
The chart below shows the most productive pairs of wide receivers for each team. Denver’s pair, Brandon Lloyd and Jabar Gaffney, were the most productive pair, at 2,323 receiving yards. Thirteen other pairs finished with at least twice as many yards as the Browns.
