Factoid
It’s always nice to have running backs you can count on to get plenty of carries around the goal line. That means when the ball gets inside the 5, your fantasy team has a decent chance of picking up a short touchdown.
Below is the list of all running backs in the league who last year had over two thirds of their team’s rushing attempts inside the 5-yard line. Chris Johnson isn’t considered a banger, but he led the way, with all but one of Tennessee’s carries in that area (remarkable, consider this includes quarterbacks).
The biggest surprise on the list is Mike Tolbert, who picked up a lot of the role in San Diego that many expected would be filled by Ryan Mathews. Other names that were undervalued in fantasy drafts include BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Fred Jackson and Peyton Hillis.
