What an amazing turnaround in Minnesota last year, where Brett Favre went from Lazarus to Icarus in a single season. Check out the numbers below.
In 2009, Favre came out of retirement and posted arguably his best numbers ever. He threw 33 touchdowns versus only 7 interceptions, helping the Vikings to the NFC Championship game.
But last year, Favre – and the Vikings – crashed and burned. He threw almost twice as many interceptions (19) as touchdowns (11).
As a team, that’s the biggest turnaround ever. The Vikings went from plus-27 to minus-12 in terms of ratio of touchdowns to interceptions, a decrease of 39. Since the NFL went to the 16-game season in 1978, that’s eight more than any other team.
