I’m just starting to look at Buffalo today. The Bills may have scored a league-low 20 TDs last season, but I spend a full day – at least – taking a long look at each team. That’s my system.
A couple of quirky numbers that have jumped out at me early.
Only tight ends who have scored touchdowns over 25 yards two years in a row:
Antonio Gates
Alge Crumpler
Chris Cooley
Dallas Clark
Robert Royal
Which one of those guys doesn’t belong?
Also, I see that Trent Edwards last year threw the 2nd-most touchdown passes of any quarterback selected third round since the league went to a 16-game season in 1978. The only guy who tossed more was one from around our part of the country: Chris Chandler, who started right away for the Colts in 1988. Chandler wound up starting a Super Bowl for the Falcons.
