Factoid
Remember back in the first week, we had 3 TDs scored on kickoff returns -- Randall Cobb, Percy Harvin, Ted Ginn? That cooled off talk about the new kickoff rules -- but reality has started to sink in.
Kickoffs have become boring. Over half are resulting in touchbacks, and there were no touchdowns scored on kickoff returns in Week 2 or 3. Through three weeks, there have been 486 kickoffs, and 245 have been touchbacks. The previous two years, we were down at 16 percent on touchbacks -- so it's tripled.
Below is the rundown by team, showing which teams are allowing the most kickoff returns. The Broncos have had nothing but touchbacks this year; hard to see any kickoffs being returned for touchdowns against them. The Seahawks and Vikings are the only teams currently getting touchbacks on fewer than 20 percent of their kickoffs.
