Around the NFL
The Rams have benched Mike Sims-Walker. Actually, more than benched him. He's not even active.
Sims-Walker hasn't done much this year. That's why he won't even be in uniform.
For today, the team should go with Brandon Gibson and Danario Alexander as its starting receivers. Greg Salas should be their slot guy. And we suspect tight end Lance Kendricks will start playing a bigger role.
This probably isn't the last change in the receiving corps. The Rams could be looking to pick up a receiver via trade prior to the Tuesday deadline. Brandon Lloyd and Eddie Royal (who played for Josh McDaniels last year) could be available. They also have Mark Clayton on the PUP list. He was on pace for 88 receptions after four games last year.
If you're in a big league, run a check on Alexander. He might be slightly more valuable than the worst guy on your roster.
