Saints put up 60 against Indianapolis

Posted Oct. 23 at 09:44 PM

The Saints hung 62 on the Colts. You don’t see that kind of point total often. That’s happened only eight times since the merger – eight times in over 40 years.

Last time it happened was Dan Marino’s last game – Miami lost by the same score in a playoff game following the 1999 season. And it’s something that had happened only once in the last 20 years.

How many points can we expect these teams to score the FOLLOWING week? That is, when a team scores 60, does that make them more likely to score 35-plus or 40-plus points in the next week?

That will be something we’ll check out for this week’s editional of the Fantasy Index Weekly.

The Saints could have set some kind of record if they had chosen to.... they put in their back-ups and ran the ball exclusively the entire 4th quarter. Another interesting stat was that Drew Brees threw more TD's (5) than incompletions (4). That has to be a feat that is extremely rare!!!
