Around the NFL
Shaun Alexander could be going home.
He grew up not far from Cincinnati (in Florence, Kentucky), and he has a visit scheduled with the Bengals on Monday, according to the team’s website.
"Shaun wants to get an idea how the Bengals would use him and I'm sure the Bengals would like to talk to him," said Alexander’s agent, Jim Steine. "But there is interest on both sides."
It doesn’t make sense to me. They might already have four running backs who are better than Alexander – Rudi Johnson, Kenny Watson, Kenny Irons and Chris Perry – and Alexander doesn’t play special teams. And after being a highly-paid superstar for years, is Alexander even interested in going somewhere and playing for what he’s now worth – about the league minimum?
