John Fox says he expects Jonathan Stewart to return kickoffs this season. The first-rounder also could be Carolina’s starting tailback.
"He's the guy who'll start off with those duties when we get to camp," Fox said in an article in today’s edition of The Charlotte Observer.
Fox says he isn’t concerned about kickoffs potentially adding wear and tear on Stewart, who’s competing with DeAngelo Williams for carries in Carolina’s backfield.
"It's no different than when Steve Smith was our punt returner,” Fox says. “We'll evaluate that as we go."
Stewart underwent toe surgery in the offseason but is expected to be fully healthy when the team’s training camp begins. To see this article in its entirety, go to Charlotte.com.
