Contract-year player alert: Terrell Owens is entering the final season of the three-year deal he signed with Dallas in 2006, and it’s starting to look more likely that he may play out that deal.
Owens indicated on Wednesday that he hasn’t talked to the Cowboys about a contract extension, and he’s not worried about it. He’ll go ahead and play out the contract without creating a distraction, he says.
"It's not an issue," Owens said in today’s Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "For me, I'm going to go out and let my play do the talking.”
Owens will be 35 in December, but if he puts up big numbers this season, he’ll still be a coveted player next spring – at least for teams willing to gamble they can manage his enormous ego.

Ian, considering that Terrel is essentially in a contract year. Can we look to him to "leave it all on the field"? He was my #1 pick in my 3 round protected keeper league last year and he rewarded me with #2 RB numbers. Him Big Ben and Joe addai,{ along with solid FA pickups } carried team STUGOTS to the league Tital. Can i look for similiar production from this season, and should i consider him with my #1 pick again. {keepers J.Addai, 3rd rounder, Big Ben,10th rounder and player to be named later are my keepers}.

I don't consider the contract to be a big issue with Owens. I don't think that he wasn't trying as hard last year, or that he'll give any less effort if he signs an extension. I think he's a player. Probably the #2 WR on the board.
