The Cowboys could swing a trade for Joe Horn, according to Adam Schefter of the NFL Network.
Horn doesn’t fit into Atlanta’s plans, but the Cowboys may see him as a viable option if they can’t resolve their contractual issues with Terry Glenn. Dallas wants Glenn to be a part of its offense but is concerned about him getting hurt. The two sides have argued about how much of his contract should be guaranteed.
Whether Horn is an adequate replacement is up for debate. Probably not. He’s 36 years old, and he hasn’t made much of an impact in any of the last three seasons. The Falcons have no interest in him – they’ll cut him before opening day unless they’re able to trade him for a late-round pick.
Outside of Terrell Owens, the Cowboys’ other options at wide receiver include Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd.
Schefter’s article also contradicts what appears in today’s Philadelphia Daily News. He says that Kevin Jones has canceled the workout he had scheduled for Saturday, which could mean he’s close to signing with a team. To read Schefter’s article, go to NFL.com.
