Kelley is high on Courtney Taylor

Posted Jul. 28 at 08:30 PM

In Seattle, Deion Branch (recovering from reconstructive knee surgery) is unlikely to be ready to go on opening day, so they’re looking for another wide receiver to play with Bobby Engram and Nate Burleson.

Ben Obomanu, Courtney Taylor, Logan Payne and Jordan Kent are all contenders for the job.

A few days into camp, Seattle Times columnist Steve Kelley thinks they’ve got a winner. Taylor, Kelley writes, should be the guy. You can read all about it right here.

Kelley doesn’t take an overly analytical approach in looking at the receivers. There’s not much reasoning as to why the team should go with Taylor over the other three. But Kelley definitely thinks Taylor will be the guy. And being based in the Northwest, I can tell you that Kelley is generally regarded as the best sports columnist in the Puget Sound – has been for years.
