Significant news on both of the Bengals’ big-name Johnsons.
ESPN’s two inside guys – Chris Mortensen and John Clayton – are reporting that Chad Johnson has a torn labrum as a result of falling on his shoulder last week. Johnson says he’s going to play wearing a harness to protect the injured wing, which was briefly dislocated. Clearly, the injury could affect his performance, and he’s not as likely to play 16 games as the other big-time receivers in the league.
In regards to Rudi Johnson, who hasn’t played in the preseason, Mortensen says the Bengals have contacted at least two teams about trading the veteran running back for a wide receiver. That could be a sign that Cincinnati is truly concerned about Ocho Cinco. And it’s also evidence that the Bengals are comfortable going with Chris Perry and Kenny Watson as their two main running backs. Perry would be the starter.
Another possible winner in this deal could be Chris Henry, who’s now more likely to start some games at wide receiver (once he finishes his four-game league suspension).

Hey, Ian, do you think 85's injury significantly helps or hurts TJ Houshamazilli? I'm trying to decide whether to keep Housh or not...thanks.
