The Eagles are trying to convert Tony Hunt into a fullback. Currently, he’s their first-string guy at that position.
But it’s way too early to say whether Hunt will be able to handle that job. He doesn’t have much experience being a lead blocker.
"They're asking me to pick it up fast and I'm going to go as hard as I can, but it's somewhat of an experiment and it's not guaranteed to work out," Hunt said in an article in today’s Philadelphia Inquirer.
A reporter then asked Hunt how long it should take him to master the fullback position, and that produce what may turn out to be the fantasy football quote of the day:
"That's like me asking you how long it would take you to be an astronaut," he said. "I've never done it before."
This is a significant fantasy position. Whomever the Birds line up there isn’t going to put up big numbers, but he will play a role in whether the Philadelphia offense is running smoothly. Brian Westbrook needs to have holes opened, and Donovan McNabb needs to have blitzes picked up.
