Factoid
Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood put on quite a show against Detroit. Turner ran for a team-record 220 yards and 2 TDs on 22 carries, while Norwood ran for 93 yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts.
Combined, that’s 313 yards and 3 TDs, and these guys averaged a gaudy 8.7 yards per attempt.
Pretty darn impressive, and not really out of character for these guys. Each of these players has averaged over 5.8 yards per carry twice in recent years. In the last three years, only one other running back (Michael Pittman) has averaged over 5.8 yards per attempt while carrying the ball 50-plus times.
