There could be a major off-field incident brewing with Vince Young. Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper reports that friends of Young were concerned enough about him on Monday night that they called Jeff Fisher, who then used police to track down Young four hours later.
Young was an immediate star as a rookie, back in 2005, but he struggled last year and hasn’t been able to pick up the team’s new offense so far. He was horrible in the preseason, and the home crowd booed him on Sunday after he sputtered and threw 2 interceptions.
Young has been criticized severely for apparently declining to re-enter Sunday’s game after throwing his second interception. He later returned to the field, but suffered a knee injury shortly afterward.
Police spokesman Don Aaron, according to this article, said Young “had been emotionally all day when he abruptly left his Williamson County home without his cellphone and sped away.”
“Young went in and met with Coach Fisher for a short period of time, and ultimately it was determined that the concern expressed earlier in the evening about his emotional well-being was unfounded,” Aaron said.
