Young might be done with football

Posted Sep. 09 at 11:46 PM

Vince Young told friends he doesn’t want to play football anymore, according to an article in The Nashville Tennessean. He doesn’t like the pressure and criticism that comes with the job, according to his mother.

“Vince has gone through a whole lot as a young person,’’ Felicia Young said. “And I think he has done pretty well up to this point. But it is hard, all he is going through right now. He’s hurting inside and out.”

The Titans, meanwhile, appear to be preparing to go on without Young, who’s out for 2-4 weeks anyway with a sprained knee. Kerry Collins will be their starter this week, and the team reached an agreement today with Chris Simms.

The article, outlining the strange goings on that occurred on Monday night (when Young went missing), as well as the interview with his mom, was written by Jim Wyatt. To see it all, click here.
