Fantasy News
Major headaches could be coming in fantasy leagues, courtesy of Hurricane Ike.
The hurricane has damaged Houston’s home field, Reliant Stadium, to the point where it might not be ready to host games in October. It definitely won’t be ready for the Texans-Ravens game that was scheduled for Monday night.
That game will either be moved to a neutral field, or the NFL schedule could be revised – move that game to a bye week later in the season.
If you’ve got a Houston or Baltimore player in your lineup, in other words, be prepared to have to sit him down this week – he might not even be playing.
It’s possible that many fantasy leaguers will start guys like Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub, thinking they’ll be playing. If that game is canceled or moved, commissioners will face difficult decisions regarding those lineups, particularly if the game isn’t moved until after other games begin on Sunday. Are those fantasy scores then pending – not becoming final until the Houston-Baltimore game is completed later in the year? Do those players get zeroes? Or will lineups be revised to what they likely would have been had the announcement been made sooner.
The Texans’ next three home games are scheduled to be played between October 5-19.
The winner in this deal could be Willis McGahee. If the game is moved, it will give him another week to work his knee back into shape.
The story in the Houston Chronicle appears here.

In the leagues I am in Ravens and Texans players or Defensive team will get zero points. Plus, the owner will be charged $5.00 (pizza fund) for starting a player on a bye week. Go Steelers!

Exactly the type of thinking I'd expect from a towel waving maggot from Pittsburg. Tell Ben to wear his helmut to Baltimore. We'll be ready to "jack him up"......AGAIN

I look forward to our Monday night game against the over-the-hill defense and the lousy no-name offense that used to be called the browns. I understand that this is probably the Ravens' Super Bowl, just like it is for Cincy and Cleveland when we come visit.
