Around the NFL
A story at the team’s official web site points out that of Carson Palmer’s five all-time worst games, four of those have come in the team’s last seven games (rolling back into last season).
His worst two games have been his last two, with the Bengals offense going nowhere against Baltimore and Tennessee.
Now Cincinnati plays a defense that’s even better than those two. It’s at the Giants on Sunday.
Who’s more likely to score in this one: T.J. Houshmandzadeh or Justin Tuck? And by the time Chad Johnson gets “Ocho Cinco” on the back of his jersey, will anybody care?

I'm abandoning ship on Palmer. I am curious to hear from other owners of Palmer, Housh, Ocho Cinco, Perry, etc. I'm sitting at 0-2 and if I don't do something drastic, my season is over if I go 0-3. I'm planning to drop Carson Palmer outright and pick up Trent Edwards. I'm actually operating under the theory that perhaps somebody else will drop one of their 2 QBs to grab Palmer out of foolishness, and this will free up a potentially better QB than Edwards. That's how desperate I have become. Let somebody else lose games with Palmer while he plays pre-season performances for the first month of the regular season. Not me.

I have had Palmer in a couple keeper leagues for several years and I had him rated as the #8 qb coming into 2008. His start to the year is atrocious, but the Tennessee game was played in a wind tunnel. My advice would be to wait another week if you possibly can. He has good enough weapons that he should get back on track. He plays the Giants this week then he has the Browns. That Browns game should give him a chance to have a great day and that might allow you to sell him high instead of dumping him for nothing. But, you know your roster better than me and it would be hard to start Palmer this week. If you have another decent qb, I would hold out for a good game, then sell high. If not, you probably have to make a move. Good luck!
