ASK THE EXPERTS appears weekly with answers to a new question being posted Thursday morning. How the guest experts responded when we asked them:

Which fantasy dud through two weeks would you most like to buy low?

JEFFREY KAMYS

Either of the Bengals WRs that are struggling. Week 1 for the Bengals was a brutal matchup and in week 2, the weather pretty much killed the pass game. Those guys, TJ and Ocho Cinco and Palmer will all rebound and have solid years.

Kamys is president of Dr. Stats Fantasy Sports. His company, via the web, offers player news, injury reports, cheat sheets, projections, weekly matchups, statistics, and a customized team tracker. MIKE NAZAREK

I still believe Steven Jackson will turn his season around, especially for fantasy owners in PPR leagues.

LOUIS TRANQUILLI

Steven Jackson. Two NFC East matchups out of the way now, he hasn't had the benefit like Frank Gore or even Julius Jones of pounding on his weak division. That time is coming, he has 8 of his next 14 games vs. the NFC west and Miami. That should be no less than 9 games you can count on for some serious FF production.

Louis Tranquilli is the founder and the primary "brains" (if you stretch it) of BFDFANTASYfootball.com. BFD is about giving advice to players from a player. Lou's been a highly successful owner in many high stakes contests. BFD is giving away 50 fantasy football teams in 2008.

SCOTT ENDSLEY

Define dud becomes the first question. Some players may be considered duds at this point but we saw it coming: Larry Johnson, Derek Anderson, Browns offense in general, etc… In our opinion it’s too early to call anyone a dud, it’s been 2 games. Peyton Manning has been well below expectations, even below our somewhat reduced projections, but we’d still take Peyton for the next 15 weeks.

BOB HECK

We would target Browns WR Braylon Edwards. A slow start was to be expected as Braylon Edwards missed the final three pre-season games with a cut on his foot, not to mention QB Derek Anderson was sidelined with a concussion. The Browns were over-matched against the Cowboys in the opener and then underperformed at their home-opener against the Steelers. Braylon has just 5 receptions on the year - however he has 18 targets after two games, tied for the 11th most of all WRs. Braylon is coming off a 16-TD season and his day will come. If you can find a frustrating owner who might be willing to take say a Chris Chambers and another mid-level player who has outperformed Edwards, this would be the type of move that is going to pay huge dividends.

SAM HENDRICKS

I’ll give you one at each position. First, Derek Anderson at QB; he has played two tough opponents in Dallas and Pittsburg. He should rebound in week 4 vs. CIN. Next, LT who is currently not even in the top 30 at RB. Injury worries have hindered him so far. While a toe injury is worrisome, I would bet he recovers and gets back to norm soon. Finally, Braylon Edwards at WR is a victim of his QB (D. Anderson) and the same tough schedule CLEV faced in weeks 1 and 2. Any of those three should be good value later this season.

Hendricks is the author of Fantasy Football Guidebook and the recently released Fantasy Football Almanac 2008 which are both available at his website, www.ffguidebook.com, at all major bookstores, and at www.amazon.com. He is an 18-year fantasy football veteran who regularly participates in the World Championship of Fantasy Football (WCOFF) and will participate this year in the inaugural season of the Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC).

CHRIS LISS

It all depends on what the going rate is. I'd take Carson Palmer if he were dirt cheap. I'd take Joseph Addai, but I doubt he'd go at that much of a discount.

ANDY RICHARDSON

Probably some component of the Bengals' passing game: Carson Palmer, Chad Ocho Cinco, T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Cincinnati has faced two tough defenses (Baltimore and Tennessee) the first two weeks, plus they played in a wind tunnel last week. Their defense is still lousy and their running game is pretty poor, so I think those guys will be putting up their usual quality numbers the rest of the way, particularly the receivers.

Richardson has been a columnist and contributor to the Fantasy Football Index magazine and web site for the past seven years. His responsibilities include team defense and IDP projections, as well as various site features. He has run the magazine's annual draft and auction leagues since their inception.
