Lions unlikely to trade Roy Williams

Posted Sep. 29 at 04:48 PM

A couple of interesting stories by Tom Kowalski at the Everything Michigan – M.Live.com website.

For starters, Kowalski confirms, via an interview with Kevin Smith, what many were expecting after the team’s last game. The Lions are going with Rudi Johnson as their starting running back. Smith will now be their No. 2.

Smith isn’t particularly happy about it, as Kowalski outlines in his story.

And Kowalski also reports that while it might make sense for the Lions to trade Roy Williams (before the Oct. 14 trade deadline), the team hasn’t received any calls for its disgruntled receiver.

"I heard the buzz in the offseason but I haven't heard anything (recently),” Williams says. “That's why it makes it easier for me to concentrate on what we do.”
