Factoid
Two receivers are managing to put up big numbers despite being stuck on teams with lesser passing attacks.
Roddy White and Derrick Mason are both working with rookie quarterbacks. And both are on teams that will finish in the bottom 10 in passing. But both are essentially the only consistent pass catchers on those teams.
White has caught 18 passes for 322 yards, making up almost half of Atlanta's passing production. It's the same story with Mason; he's at 16 receptions and 223 yards -- no other Raven has more than 54 receiving yards.
By the end of the season, these players may rank among the most productive receivers ever -- relative to their own team's production, that is. The below chart shows the 18 other receivers that have accounted for over 40 percent of their own team's receiving yards since the league went to a 16-game format in 1978.
