Good News Bears

Posted Oct. 08 at 02:06 PM

A number that might surprise you:

The Bears right now are sitting 15th in passing at 220 yards per game.

Now some might see that as a simply aberration due to scheduling. They played the Lions, after all, on Sunday. So perhaps they'll slip down to around 25th in passing by the time it's all said and done. After all, Kyle Orton is their quarterback.

But consider also:

Chicago in 2006 ranked 15th in passing (215 yards per game).

Chicago in 2007 ranked 14th in passing (231 yards per game).

There are only six other teams, in fact, that have ranked in the top 15 in passing yards in each of the past three years -- 2006, 2007 and the current season.

Don't overlook the Bears.
