Updates being eaten and blocked by spam filters; NewsBlast being delivered
Posted Aug. 23 at 01:26 AM
An unusual number of our Fantasy Index are being eaten by spam filters or blocked altogether-- particularly for MSN, Hotmail and Yahoo users Check your junk/bulk/spam folder if your update goes missing (and mark the update as "Not Junk"). Also add us to your address book. Remember, you can access your subscription on the web using the subscriber login at the top right corner of this screen. We'll be sending the weekly rankings update to subscribers late this afternoon.
We suspect the spam-filter problems may be linked to a bit of good news: Fantasy Index NewsBlast is (finally!) being delivered by e-mail again. Yesterday's (August 22) issue was the first for the 2007 season. Ironically, we delivered the NewsBlast through our mail server because we thought that would enhance deliverability. But we suspect the torrent of mail caused MSN/Hotmail to misinterpret the messages as spam, so we'll return to sending it a different way. We carelessly forgot to include an unsubscribe link; we'll make sure that's included in today's issue.

Very disappointed to hear there was a substantial tapering of the rookies section in this years magazine. I am in both an annual and a keeper league and the expanded section has helped me win back-to-back championships in both. In the annual league it is imperative to have a thorough list because late in the year when other players are wearing down you need to be able to pickup quality rookies that can assist in a title run. This happens every year. This same holds true for the keeper league, but even more so since you are looking to get your hands on guys who will help you make an extended run year after year. As a result, I would respectfully disagree with the staff’s analysis and decision. I hope the expanded version is back next year. I was about to purchase the magazine, and have not only loved it, but also felt it really helped me get a step ahead each year. However, having read this I am merely going to go with the Index Rankings this year.
