Acrobat download technical support
If you're getting a blank page when you attempt to download our printer-friendly Adobe Acrobat documents, then your Acrobat Reader software isn't playing nicely with your web browser. Here's how to make that naughty software behave:
Disable browser integration in Acrobat Reader's general preferences.
In version 5 of Acrobat Reader:
- Open your Adobe Acrobat Reader program (if you don't have Acrobat Reader then download it for free at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.
- Under the file menu, choose preferences -> options.
- Turn OFF the following options to disable web browser integration (it's off when there is NO checkmark):
- Display PDF in browser (turn off)
- Check browser settings when starting Acrobat (turn off)
- Allow fast web view (turn off)
- Allow background downloading (turn off)
- allow File Open Actions and Launching File Attachments (turn off)
- Now go back to the web page and click on the "printer friendly" button. This will cause Acrobat Reader files to download to your hard drive, where you can open them using the Acrobat Reader program.
In version 4 of Acrobat Reader:
- Open your Adobe Acrobat Reader program (if you don't have Acrobat Reader then download it for free at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.
- Under the file menu, choose preferences -> general.
- Turn OFF web browser integration. It's off when there is NO checkmark.
- Now go back to the web page and click on the "printer friendly" button. This will cause Acrobat Reader files to download to your hard drive, where you can open them using the Acrobat Reader program.
