Darren McFadden of Arkansas is considered the top running back prospect in this year's college draft. Who was the last Arkansas running back -- the only one since the merger in 1970 -- to be selected in the first round? For extra credit, identify his college teammate who was also selected in the first round by the same team in the same draft.



A:

Gary Anderson. He was selected 20th overall by the Chargers in 1983. Linebacker Billy Ray Smith was selected with the 5th pick by San Diego in that same draft.
