Alfred Morris holds a special place in the heart of some fantasy teams and Fantasy Index readers. The sixth-round pick came out of nowhere a few years back to lead fantasy teams to titles and help Washington into the playoffs.

But Washington selected Matt Jones in the third round this year, and the rookie has some team observers very intrigued. A writer for CSN Washington thinks Jones will have a larger role than expected in the team's offense.

Washington has other backs, including Chris Thompson and Silas Redd, and one of the backs will replace Roy Helu as Morris' primary backup. But Jones' third-round selection makes him the favorite. The fact that Morris comes off a poor season only makes Jones even more intriguing.Maybe he will be this year's rookie runner to monitor in Washington.

My dynasty league opened its waiver wire this morning. Jones wasn't selected in our three round rookie draft, but was picked up just a few seconds into the waiver period.
